Dungeons & Dragons Drinks | How to Drink

I’ve been playing D&D for years and tonight I’m going to stream the first session I’ve run in a long time, and I’m making some setting appropriate drinks for my players.

Tonight I’m running D&D for the first time in a long time and I’m very excited. A lot of game groups enjoy having something to drink at the table and here I’m making a couple of setting appropriate drinks, one with and one without alcohol. The Tavern Punch draws on punch and tavern traditions of yore, while the Kobold Kooler is a nonalcoholic riff on a silver fizz.

I love Dungeons and Dragons, and TTRPGs in general, I’ve played quite a few: Vampire: The Masquerade, Wraith: The Oblivion, Demon: The Fallen, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Mage: The Ascension (Mage: The Awakening was also surprisingly good), as well as FATE, WH40KRPG, etc. etc. Mostly though, we played D&D. My first experience with D&D actually happened before I even knew what it was, I got a box of DragonStrike, TSR’s answer to Games Workshop’s Hero Quest (basically a board game encapsulation of Dungeons and Dragons) and I loved it. But I never played it much beyond its introductory board-game level of play. Later on, in my freshman year of Highschool my friend Mike would introduce me to AD&D 2nd Edition and I was instantly hooked. It was pretty much all I wanted to do.

And now I am again! Tonight at 8:00pm Eastern Time I’ll be live streaming D&D at twitch.tv/GregFromHTD

  • Your no where close to what they drank in the 1600s the meads and wines were much higher proof that's why they sweetened it in the first place.

  • (Assuming nobody's posted this already/you haven't found out any other way) The Flying Fish braggot is the Exit 3 Blueberry Braggot. It's one of the last Exit Series beers and one of the few they decided to keep long-term after finishing the series. It looks like they produce it year-round, probably in limited quantities. It is definitely sweeter than a beer but less sweet than other meads.

As to where to get it, maybe try a Joe Canal's? I lived in New Brunswick a few years ago and I distinctly remember being able to find it fairly regularly when I stopped in at the Joe Canal's at the Mercer Mall off Route 1 on my way to see people in the South Jersey/Philly area. Since Joe Canal's is a chain, it stands to reason they might have it at other locations.

  • 4 d6 max hp but all the mobs and creatures we fight in my campaign or custom home built creatures with a shit ton of hp does a shit ton of damage

  • A very rare case where you're featuring something I've actually tried before – Viking Blod is good shit.

  • I play pathfinder. A couple of friends invited me in high school and I love it. The same friends switched over to dnd and i dont like it that much. I like the amount of diversity pathfinder has over dnd and i prefer 3.5 mechanics with bonuses in numerical value rather than a flat "you can roll 2 times".
