Horror, at its core, is primal. You don’t need a multi-million dollar design budget or advanced realtime bullet physics to make something scary. You just have to have an idea that is raw, and the honesty to execute it. P.T. perfectly illustrates this point. It takes place entirely in one hallway. It didn’t have complicated AI. There weren’t a dozen characters to design and model. Hell, there weren’t even that many scares. And it was absolutely terrifying. It distilled the concepts of the ill-fated Silent Hills into a dense moment of terror. It was its own compact experience, and a glimpse into something much more. Many games have tried to imitate P.T. in content. A million spooky hallways with a trillion collectible notes. Some of these are fantastic. But what about that concept? To distill your dream project into something condensed, raw, and real? That was the question posed to 10 brilliant creators. Make a PT for the horror project of your dreams. Both a game on its own, and a window into a much larger world. Make it raw. Make it real. Make it a reflection of your own fears. Make it in just 7 days.dread x, dread x collection, summer nights, summer night, summer night airdorf, horror, survival horror, indie game, indie game, horror indie game, scary indie game, scary indie games, scary, mrkravin, cjugames, jonh wolfe, outlast, P.T., PT, silent hill, until dawn, scariest, scary games, horror games, silent hills, dread x collection gameplay, dread x collection review, the pony factory, jumpscare, And they did. • I won’t lie: the sound design from this game makes me really wish that the Videogame called Scratches was still available to be bought and played, as that game only existed to provide the player with all sorts of super scary background sounds

  • Yo can we actually talk how cool it would be if Scott gave Airdorf money to make games? And how unfair it is that he, like, can't be forced to? And also about the fact that this is an amazing crossover of two completely opposite themes of SGS?

  • 3:10 ok lol no that is NOT a normal thought. That my narrator friend, is called suffering from paranoid delusions..
Sadly, i kinda had a dear friend back in the day that did suffer those exact thoughts..
She'd be like, in the kitchen preparing something, and suddenly say "OMG why is my forks in this drawer?? I didnt put them there.. Hey did you put them there?", and i'd be like, wtf i just got here, havent seen u all week what u talking about?
The next moment, she'd be like "What…. Why is that light on? Did you turn it on when you came in the front door? I didnt turn it on… I think i have a ghost". And again i'd just be like…… I mean, what do you even say?

Not when it happens one time.. But like ten times every time you hang out…
Eventually it just drove me fucking crazy too, and i drifted away from her and our friendship evaporated.
I mean she'd get literally angry at me for "Tricking her", because her mind suffered from those delusions and paranoia. Certain that it was people around her that fucked with her, rather than her own mistake of perception.
    I hope she's still okay.. =/

  • When the dude reading that letter at the beginning asked me if I had remembered to lock the front door, I realized I hadn’t.
    Thanks, man!

  • crazy how the simple graphics / style of it totally works. The sounds!

    Arn-Ice July 23, 2020 2:23 am Reply
  • I find the overreaction highly unappealing. There's no way you truly freak out by the sound of a knock and it takes me out of the experience.
